T-shirts are optional with your entry. We'll be unveiling the design on our social media channels as we get closer to race day!

Location:

The University of Nottingham's University Park campus is easily accessible by public transport or car. We encourage lift sharing as much as possible to limit the amount of traffic on campus.

The race village is close to David Ross Sports Village and Sherwood Hall. There will be a bar hosted by our sponsors Castle Rock Brewery, plus more stalls to be announced as we get closer to race day.

The route:

This is a road 10k which consists of two laps around University Park campus and Lakeside. Our friendly marshals will be at strategic points along the course, along with our lead bike and final runner to make sure no one gets lost!
The race starts on Beeston Lane near the Humanities Building then heads up Cripps Hill toward Cut Through Lane. Head past the Keighton Auditorium and down Keighton Hill toward Lakeside Arts Centre. Our marshals will direct you around the lake before you turn up East Drive running past the Portland Building toward the iconic Trent Building clock tower. Head through the courtyard of Trent Building and down Jubilee Avenue back onto Beeston Lane for lap two. A water station will be provided at roughly 5km.

The second lap finishes with a turn off Beeston Lane toward Rutland and Sherwood halls of residence where you'll cross the line in our race village and can celebrate with a well-earned pint from Castle Rock, some tasty food from our vendors, and enjoy the post-race atmosphere.

Check it out on Strava

Roads will be OPEN during the race, so we ask all runners to be mindful of traffic and other campus users. No headphones - including bone conductor headphones - will be allowed on the course, and any runners seen wearing them will be disqualified.

What do your entry fees cover:

A proportion of your entry fee will go toward supporting Maggies and CALM again this year. In 2023 we raised £2,000 that was split equally between each charity.

The rest of your entry fee goes towards the running costs of the event. This includes everything from first aid responders, insurance, porta-loo hire, generator hire, t-shirt costs etc. F1CC absorb a small amount back into the club to ensure the race can continue for another 20 editions and to support our members in entering other races across the calendar year.

We know that Nottingham has many running events across the year, with many charging for the privilege of running around the city.
What makes the Castle Rock 10k so special is that it's organised by a small running club and a committee made up solely of volunteers giving up many hours of their free time to ensure a great experience for our entrants.
We thank you for choosing to support a local run organised by a local running club with your entry fee.
